There isn't an airport in Lebanon, MO, but the nearest ones are Fort Leonard Wood at 29 miles, and Springfield at 50 miles from Lebanon. Unfortunately the airfare to springfield is not cheap. The lowest I have seen is over $300 round trip. http://travel.travelocity.com/aircairline.ctl?SEQ=123748617350120203192009&LANG=EN

SAVE MONEY if you don't mind a 2 and a half hour drive! MSP-Lambert St. Louis costs $222 rounddtrip, tax and all, aboard Southwest (direct thru Chicago on the way there, change planes in Chicago on the way back) MSP-Springfield costs $797 Nonstop aboard Northwest

DOES THIS TRAVEL DIARY WHICH STARTED IN TURKEY STILL HOLD YOUR INTEREST?
This is a continuation of the Travel Diary and is dated 22nd. July 2010 Your day out with your Yahoo friend sounds lovely. I remember the pianos from last summer and it really is a lovely idea. It's such a nice area around St Paul's/Millenium Bridge - have spent many a lunch time walking along the river. That's quite funny about positng my emails. Blog is a good idea but can't really be bothered to be honest - content with emailing friends and family. Been in India for a week now. We spent five pretty tough-going days in Delhi (a mixture of visa issues (we've only been given 3 months as opposed to the 6 months we requested) and my stubborness in not wanting to dodge the down and dirty kept us there longer than most probably end up staying). The poverty and abject living conditions have to be seen to be believed - people p1ssing and sh1tting in public, kids not older than 10 cracking rocks on building sites and slums just about everywhere you look - around the train station was particularly depressing. The heat was like nothing i've experienced before - basically living in a steam room (we got a room with air-con and satellite tv to compensate). On the bright side thought the Gandhi memorial/museum was really interesting (good introduction into both his life and key events in India's history). Also really enjoyed the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Sikh temple (attractive gold onion-shaped domes on the outside and nice devotional songs being sung inside). Now in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh (north - en route to the India Himalaya where we plan on doing some trekking). The temperate weather (never thought i'd be grateful to have a day of cold, miserable, overcast weather!), the scenery, and the absence of poo smells all coming as welcome treats!!! Loving the sweet milky tea that they serve everywhere and the food has also been a real highlight - no dodgy stomachs yet but plenty of lovely curries and dosas. Loving the vegetable paneer curries!!! Love and miss you all very much, . . @ Nicky, Thank you for answering, all-be-it in a rather ungallant manner! . @ εClεCtiC Take a look at this short video of this most regal of animals... @ iph, You're right, it is rather like a blog! @ QUEEN P, why are you calling me a "pasteli"?...LOL @ Lite, I too would love to visit India... @ ♥ Barış Awareness♥ Thanks for being a subscriber and BTW...the young man is not my uncle!...LOL . Home of the tiger; India. That's the only place on earth tigers can live in. I would like to see a tiger on sight in the wild, from a long, long and long distance. It could be one of the reasons for me to visit India one day. **** As seen on the video, poachers hunt them illegally. No wonder why they are listed endangered. They say there are only 4,000 tigers left around the whole world. Some people pay incredible amount of money to obtain one tiger skin. Thats why so many people in India have injuries caused by tigers, or even dead.

Yes, I am an avid subscriber... It is true, you have to see it to believe it. In the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" it depicts much of what he witnessed, but seeing it up close and personal must of been quite the eye opener... Well sounds like he has gotten a real taste of beautiful, awful, and the in between already... Looking forward to the next edition ;) Oh yea, it is not your uncle, that was an error.. Sorry..;)

About Traveling by plane with infant

Traveling by plane with infant?
I am looking for plane tickets for my husband, infant, and I. I am not sure what it means by infant in lap or infant in seat. Which one is better? We are from Fresno, Ca traveling to St. Paul, MN. When we go on our trip baby will be 2 months old.

I believe the distinction is this: in lap means you will holding the baby; in seat means the baby will have his/her own seat. My daughter is now twelve, and travel regulations are really different now, so you may want to check with the airline.
2 :
Basically the difference is In a seat they get their own seat in lap means you hold the baby for the duration of the flight. In my opinion I do think that in a seat is much better for you and the baby for the flight since you dont have to hold him/her for the entire flight (your arms can get a little tired) but with the lap seat its cheaper since you dont have to buy a hole other ticket. If you do decide to go with the lap seat make sure u have a sling for the baby (with or without the lap seat actually it makes it alot easier to walk around airport) the sling will help with actually holding her so its not so stressful on your arms and your arms wont get that tired (not to mention they sleep real easy in one) you cannot wear the sling during take off and landing but during the flight its a life saver. I've never actually used a regular seat yet but i imagine i will soon. But I heard you can bring a car seat and stuff but im not entirely sure... Some addition tips. Brings some toys for him/her to play with and make sure shes sucking on something or feeding during take off and landing (it helps with the ear poping) Hope This Helps HAVE A GREAT FLIGHT

Infant in lap means, you're not buying ticket for your baby. The baby will sit or be in your lap. Infant in seat means, you're buying ticket for the baby and baby's going to be on his own seat with his/her car seat. If you're on a budget, of course lap seat is good. But if you're not concern with money then I suggest buy ticket for your baby. It is more relaxing for both of you, no sore arms and it gives you more room for all the stuff. I know that it is more expensive, but well worth it. Good luck and don't forget the Tylenol/Motrin before you take off and land for your baby, you don't want your baby to get sick from other passengers who are sick. Also, if you can feed your baby while taking off and landing, swallowing helps pop out the pressure in your baby's ears.

Try Hostelling International or any other Youth Hostel site.

Deals and bargains change even after we speak. On the road to Mn. Do yourself a favor and stop at Truck stops. They still have the cheapest gas..yes they serve the public. Ask the Drivers there where the best motel is going your way. Also when you are tired look at the motels you pass by. Do you see a big truck parked in the lot? That is your sign that the rates are right.
3 :
I've had great luck with Hotwire.com You get to see the price, general location and features of the hotel, but not the actual name until you commit.
4 :
I used Expedia.com when the kids and I went to Erie, PA to check out colleges my 17 yr.old had been accepted to. We got a nice room about 4 miles outside of town at a BestWestern, that came with a complimentary breakfast every morning for all 3 of us! It worked out to about 49.00 a night.

Try Orbitz, Hotwire, or expedia.com

What can I do in Minneapolis?
I'm travelling to Minneapolis-St. Paul and I am planning to spend a few days there. Can anyone suggest what to do there? Are there any guided tours?

I believe the Mall of America is there (biggest in the world???) ghost tours are always fun http://www.minneapolis.worldweb.com/ToursActivitiesAdventures/CemeteryGhostTours/ visit the local blues music scene. http://www.mnblues.com/blues-clubs.html Minisota is is known for it's lakes (land of 10,000 lakes). If weather permits, take some guided tours of the area.

Well, I'm not sure what you like to do but some suggestions: Minneapolis/St. Paul has a vibrant theater scene. You could catch a play. There is also a casino about 30 minutes away from downtown, in Prior Lake, it is called mystic lake, so if you like to do a bit of gaming you could go there. There are often free shuttle buses leaving they city (www.mysticlake.com for shuttlesschedule). They also have a great science museum in St. paul. Right now the special exhibit is CSI, how cool! They also have an Omnitheater which is a lot of fun. There is the Mall of America, if you haven't been there you should go, but it is just a really big mall. You could go to the Walker Art center if you are into art. They have the sculpture gardens there which are a lot of fun to see. If you want to hang with some of the locals, you can take a walk or rollerblade, bike, run whatever around one of the lakes. My favorite is Lake Calhon in Minneapolis. In st. paul there is also Como Zoo, Park and Conservetory (www.comozooconservatory.org) or the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, the opened a new Russia Exibit featuring Grizzly Bears. For night life, you can check out citypages.com they have a listing of clubs/bars that have live bands and also what is playing at different theaters. The are lots of really great restraunts downtown, I like Fogo de Chao a lot and Chino Latino in Uptown (also a fun area to check out). If you haven't been here, you should know that the public transportation isn't the best, they have light rail to downtown MSP and the Mall of America and the Airport, there are taxis and buses, but the think about the Twin Cities area is that places are spread out, it isn't so easy to walk from one place to another so keep that in mind. You may want to consider a rental car if you haven't. If you have time i'd reccomend driving to Stillwater, they have a great downtown right on the st. croix and it is really fun there. There are also tons of great places outside the metro area too, but i'm not sure how much time you have. Also you should check out exploreminnesota.com
